SERVICES AND FEES
My philosophy of therapy is based on the biopsychosocial model, which states that there are several things to consider when it comes to our mental health and wellness. Using this model, mental health issues are a result of biology (chemicals, genetics), psychological processes (thoughts, feelings, subconscious, etc), and social interactions (any and all relationships with people and systems). In my work with clients, I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Theory, as well as Interpersonal Theory in much of what I do. Of course, each individual is unique and depending on the issues at hand, I will often pick techniques and therapeutic activities from a range of theories. The most important aspect of therapy, in my opinion, is the relationship between the therapist and the client. If there is not a safe, trusting, accepting, and open environment in therapy, then little to no change will take place. With that said - I will emphasize the importance of being able to "click" or "connect" with the therapist. It makes all the difference!

I offer a free phone consultation in order to answer your initial questions and to help you determine if I would be the appropriate provider for your current concerns. Specific fee questions will be addressed during this phone consult and prior to any appointments being set.
I accept cash, personal checks, and Visa/MC/Debit cards for your convenience.
Currently, I am only in network for those individuals who have Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance. If you are covered by BCBS, your claims will be submitted by my billing service directly to your insurance. You will only be responsible for meeting your deductible, if you have one, and/or your copay at the time of the session.
If you have any other insurance plan, I am considered an "out of network provider", which means that you will initially be responsible for session fees. If you have out of network benefits as part of your plan, you can still be reimbursed for a large portion of your costs. Most of the larger plans do have out of network mental health benefits and will reimburse somewhere around 70% of the session fees. It is recommended that you call your plan to find out about your specific benefits prior to your first appointment. I will prepare and provide you with a detailed receipt documenting all of the information that your insurance plan requires to reimburse you directly.
